DDL3050-48
Controllable DC/DC converter, 48V, 3kW, 60A
The DDL3050-48 is a controllable DC/DC converter from the Querom low-voltage DC/DC platform and enables the connection of loads. It provides a stable supply with constant voltage or regulated constant current. This connection is made to a supply network with fluctuating voltage. The converter regulates in real time with set values defined by analogue input or software. In this way, it couples sensitive applications to unstable grids or charges energy storage devices such as supercaps (supercapacitors) or batteries. The special design of the electronics supports operation at full current. This also works with an input voltage that corresponds to the output voltage (100% duty cycle).

Hardware
The DDL3050-48 is a non-isolated controllable DC/DC converter for power transmission from port A to port B. The converter operates in buck mode and provides a reduced voltage level at port B. An additional +24V constant voltage output provides a power supply for many applications. An additional +24V constant voltage output provides a power supply for many applications. A large number of parameters can be customised via the Modbus interface. Various safety functions such as overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature protection are integrated.
100% duty cycle: The Querom circuit design works without critical special ICs. It enables operation with the full specified current of 60A. This is possible even though the input voltage is only a few tens of millivolts higher than the output voltage.
EMC: The integrated input filter with protective circuit ensures that the specified EMC standards for interference emission and immunity are met. No additional external components are required.
24V output: An additional output with 24VDC fixed voltage, 300W power and short-circuit protection is suitable for supplying connected control units, fans or sensors.
Voltage & current regulation: An analogue input (0-5V) or a software command via the existing bus system enables the current limit value to be set. This can vary between 10A and 60A. The voltage setpoint can also be set between 20V and 55V.
Precise: The converter’s 16-bit measuring system enables the power converted in the load to be monitored precisely. It can also be used to control the voltage and current setpoints. The current measurement remains within a corridor of 1% or ±1.1A so as not to deviate from the true value. The voltage measurement shows a maximum deviation of 1%.
Inrush current limiter: The integrated inrush current limiter reliably controls problematic switch-on processes in the DC supply network. It solves problems with peak currents to be protected and inductive voltage surges. No additional external components are required.
Sense line: In addition, the voltage at the terminals of the connected applications can be monitored precisely with sense lines.
Housing: Integration in other housings possible
Cooling: Contact cooling. Direct connection of other cooling types possible. Already available: Water, air / forced convection.
Safety: Overtemperature, open-circuit and short-circuit proof.
Software
Our in-house firmware development makes it possible to implement a wide range of special functions quickly and easily. You can use external factors such as temperatures or voltage, current and power limits as triggers. Special bus messages or external switch events can also be used to trigger a behaviour that you define.
Real-time diagnostics: Various measured values such as voltage, currents and temperatures can be called up. In combination with status and error messages, a user or a higher-level control system can carry out a comprehensive diagnosis of the process and react to various events.
Interface: The modbus available as standard allows setpoints to be configured and measured values to be read out.
Areas of application
As a controllable DC/DC converter, the DDL3050-48 is suitable as a voltage stabiliser and limiter, current limiter and charge controller in various applications such as energy storage or UPS systems. It is also ideal as a remote-controlled current or voltage source. This is advantageous both in industrial processes and in laboratory applications. The DDL3050-48 is already being used in various applications, including
